Our program is built on respect for the decades of knowledge, research, and proven performance that came before us. We're learning from horsemen who've spent lifetimes studying AQHA bloodlines, tracking performance data, proving what works in the arena.
Our first ten foals were sired by stallions with proven track records—horses that performed before becoming breeding stock. We started with what works. As our program develops, we're studying the balance between speed, agility, and cow sense, watching how different bloodlines perform in mountain terrain. Our vision: the foals born on this ranch will prove themselves in competition, and the best will contribute back to our breeding program. One generation at a time, one proven cross at a time.

The Methow Valley isn't just where we raise horses—it's why they're different. Four seasons of mountain weather—winter snow and cold, spring runoff and mud, summer heat, fall wind—demand constant adaptation from every animal born here.
Our foals navigate steep pastures, cross creeks, move through sagebrush country that builds bone density and sure-footedness. They develop mental toughness that can't be trained—only earned. When a horse is raised in the mountains, every cell knows how to work.

Forged In The Mountains
We breed horses. We start them correctly. We promote them honestly.
All our colts are started right here on the ranch by colt starter and ranch owner Molly Patterson. Our colts begin training at two years old, learning their jobs progressively—building muscle, developing balance, gaining confidence. We don't rush them. We don't cut corners.
Every horse gets the foundation training needed to succeed with their next rider. When a Davis Creek Ranch horse leaves our program, they're ready to step up—because we've done the work to prepare them.
